Adding a solid state drive (SSD) to the Dell Inspiron 3650 is easy. You can also find Dell parts on eBay that makes the upgrade even simpler, but they are not required.

This is a well-design OEM system.

  • The motherboard has exactly as many SATA ports as the case has SATA drive bays.
  • SATA power cables are all the perfect length, with connectors situated exactly where the drives will be.
  • Fully toolless installation.

I bought the 2.5″  drive installation kit from here. The seller has different bundles or standalone parts available, too.
